Privacy policy

Wombat Sweepers (ABN 51 144 050 751) handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it.

Last updated: 16 September 2026 · Wombat Sweepers · ABN 51 144 050 751

1. Who we are

Wombat Sweepers is a Queensland commercial and civil cleaning contractor operating from 122 Bromley St, Cornubia QLD 4130. References to "we", "us" and "our" mean Wombat Sweepers. You can contact us on 1300 387 713 or at sales@sweepers.com.au.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to quote and deliver work. That normally means your name, business or site name, phone number, email address, site address or suburb, and the details you give us about the job — surface, area, access restrictions and timing. If you apply for work with us we also collect the information in your application, such as licences, tickets and work history.

We do not collect sensitive information (health, racial or ethnic origin, political or religious beliefs, sexual orientation, criminal record) unless it is directly relevant to your employment application and you have provided it to us.

3. How we collect it

Directly from you, in most cases — through our quote form, by phone, by email, or in person during a site inspection. We may also collect information from your employer or principal contractor when they engage us to work on your site, and from publicly available sources such as company registers when we are setting up an account.

4. Why we use it

To respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, schedule and carry out the work, invoice you, keep records required for compliance and insurance, handle complaints, and — where you have asked for it or it is reasonable to expect it — to contact you about related services. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

5. Who we disclose it to

Only where it is necessary to do the work or required by law. That can include our operators and subcontractors attending your site, our insurers and professional advisers, waste disposal facilities where a disposal record is required, our accounting and IT service providers, and principal contractors or councils where your job forms part of their compliance obligations. Where a service provider stores data outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection.

6. Cookies and website analytics

Our website may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, time on page, approximate location and referring source. This information is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

7. Storage and security

We hold personal information in our business systems and in paper records at our depot. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access — including access controls, secure systems and staff obligations of confidentiality. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, plus any period required by law — including tax, work health and safety, and insurance record-keeping obligations. When we no longer need it, we destroy or de-identify it.

9. Access and correction

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Email sales@sweepers.com.au or call 1300 387 713. We will respond within a reasonable period and will not charge you for making the request. If we refuse access we will tell you why in writing.

10. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown above.
