What you are hiring
A truck-mounted regenerative-air sweeper with an operator, by the hour, the day or the project. Full lane width, high-capacity hopper, water sprays at the brush heads, and the licence and experience to run it in traffic. For fine sediment on a sealed road there is no substitute — a ride-on machine cannot cover the ground or carry the load.
Where road sweeper hire is used
Construction site exits and the public road in front of them. Haul routes while earthworks are running. Civil project roads at hand-over. Industrial estate access, truck aprons and sealed yards. Anywhere a principal contractor, council officer or resident is likely to photograph mud across the bitumen.
Why it is usually a compliance job
Sediment tracked onto a sealed road does not stay there — the first downpour carries it into the stormwater network. That is why road sweeping appears as a condition on civil and construction approvals and inside erosion and sediment control plans. Hiring a road sweeper on a schedule is cheaper than responding to a directive with a deadline on it.
How it is priced
Machine hours on site, travel to get the truck there, the number of hopper tips the job needs, and disposal. A long continuous run with one tip is efficient. A short job that fills the hopper three times is not — and that is the difference most quotes fail to explain.
Traffic management and site access
We work to your traffic management plan, and our operators are inducted before they start. If the job needs a spotter, a lane closure or after-hours access, say so at quote stage and it gets priced in rather than discovered on the day.
At a glance
| Sweeper type | Strength | Best for | Weak at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regenerative air | Fine sediment across a full lane | Civil hand-overs, estate roads, industrial precincts | Very large solids and deep spoil |
| Mechanical broom | Heavy bulk — gravel, spoil, road base | Rough surfaces and construction bulk | Leaves a haze of fine dust |
| Vacuum sweeper | Kerb and channel, leaves, wet material | Narrow collection path work | Slower across open lanes |
Street sweeping by location
Standard service across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Logan, Ipswich and the Redlands with no travel loading. Elsewhere in Queensland, travel is quoted as its own line.
Road sweeper hire — questions
Something else? Call 1300 387 713 and talk to someone who runs the machines.
Can I hire a road sweeper without an operator?
No. Truck-mounted road sweepers go out with our own licensed operator — it is a heavy vehicle, and the sweeping result depends on how it is driven as much as on the machine.
How quickly can you get a road sweeper to site?
Usually same or next day across South East Queensland, and often within hours if a truck is already working nearby. Tell us the deadline on the notice and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it.
Will you sweep the public road outside our site?
Yes — that is normally the point of the job. We sweep the site exit and the affected length of public road, working to your traffic arrangements.
Is road sweeper hire any use after heavy rain?
Damp is fine, saturated mud is not. Wet clay smears rather than lifts and blinds the filters, so we would rather re-book a day later than charge you for moving mud around.
Do you provide records for our ESCP?
Yes. Dates, runs completed, machine hours and where the captured material was disposed of can be reported at whatever interval your plan requires.
